Why The "Mystic Love" Collection Holds a Special Place in my heart
When I was in school as an undergrad, studying metalsmithing, one of my earliest projects was to make a hallow form ring. I wanted it to be a piece that represented my identity.
As an immigrant, within me there is always a dance between the culture I am from and the culture I am growing into. At the time of this project I was starting to connect deeply with mystic Persian poetry, and it was also the time I met my husband, Moshir, who is a calligraphy artist.
I was also learning the technique of etching on metal and it was thrilling to be able to bring my love of 2D art and jewelry together.
As I was driving down a tree-lined street one day and contemplating what to make, I suddenly had the idea for this ring.
So I asked Moshir to write the Rumi poem I had chosen, to etch on this piece, and that was our very first collaboration together
Why tell the story now?
Moshir and I have been life partners for over 15 years now, but nine month ago we realized our internal struggles and childhood traumas, and the identities we built around them, had caught up to us, and had weaseled their way into our beautiful relationship without our awareness. We needed time alone to heal and find ourselves again.
And so we did, and now we are together again, reconnecting with our higher selves and each other.
It's a celebration of Love
Since this collection is a collaboration between us and it is, in fact, about love, connecting to something meaningful and being grounded and at home within ourselves, it felt natural to share the story right now, as we are reconnecting in our own relationship.

Mystic Unity
